School Record And Multiple PRs Highlight Ball State Meet

MUNCIE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne competed at the Ball State Challenge on Friday and Saturday.
The 'Dons opened the meet on Friday night with Bailie Brown recording a PR in the 5K. She finished 14th with a time of 19:44.17. Sophia Hirzel was a spot behind in 15th (19:49.70).
The 'Dons set a season best in the 4x100 relay, notching a time of 48.27.
Emma Rafuse set a new school record in the 1,500 meters. Her time of 4:30.35 earned her a win in the event by just over three seconds. Elana Kayser earned a PR in the same event (5:03.52).
Lexi O'Connell was sixth in the 100 hurdles with a season best time of 14.60. Brittney Hartman recorded a PR in the 100 hurdles, stopping the clock in 16.98. O'Connell returned in the 400 hurdles to notch another PR (1:06.78).
It was another PR in the 400 meters as Ally Bailey turned in an eighth place performance (58.24).
The 'Dons were fourth in the 4x400 relay (4:00.33).
Purdue Fort Wayne is back in action on Saturday (April 20) at the Al Owens Invitational and the Mt. Sac Relays.
