Everson Knocks In Two But ‘Dons Fall At WIU

MACOMB, Ill. – Rachel Everson had two hits and drove in two runs but the Purdue Fort Wayne softball team fell at Western Illinois on Saturday (April 27) afternoon 9-3.
The Mastodons led 3-0 going into the fourth but the Leathernecks put six on the board in the fourth and three in the fifth.
The 'Dons scored two in the first thanks to RBI singles by Morganne Denny and Everson. Lauren Watson finished with a hit, run scored and a walk.
Shaina Eyre threw four innings and suffered the loss. Emily Ira picked up the win, tossing all 7.0 innings for WIU.
WIU moves to 17-19 (9-6 Summit). The 'Dons fall to 8-36 (3-15 Summit). The 'Dons are back in action on Saturday at home against Ball State and Oakland.
