ALLENDALE, Mich. – In their first meet back after break, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field took fifth at the Grand Valley State University Bob Eubanks Open on Friday (Jan. 10) afternoon.

Savannah Girolami took second in the 400 meters with a person best time of 58.94 and fourth in the 200 meters (25.98). Ally Bailey was third in the 200 meters dash (25.94) and fifth in the 60 meters (8.06). Makaila Groves took third in the 800 meters (2:26.12). In the 3000 meters, Sophia Hirzel was third (10:40.86). The 60 meter hurdles saw Dylan Kirkwood take fourth (9.37). The women grabbed fourth in the 4x400 relay, stopping the clock in 4:11.00.

Groves and Hirzel both clocked in personal bests.

The Mastodons were tied for fifth with 47 points and Aquinas took home the victory with 115 points.

The 'Dons are back in action on Saturday (Jan. 18) at the Mastodon Invitational. It will be Senior Day for the 'Dons and Savannah Girolami and Lexi O'Connell will be recognized before the start of the meet.
