What To Watch For
Before break, the Mastodons competed at Indiana Tech where Luke Beehler and Nick Derickson broke school records for the second time. Beehler competed in the long jump and earned an eighth-place overall finish with a mark of 6.71m. He will compete in the long jump once again at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open. Derickson ran a time of 1:27.99 in the 600m run, six seconds faster than his previous record he set at the Mastodon Opener. He will compete in the 800m run alongside Conner Bayne and Weston Miser. Brayden Langdon gave her best in 1000m run and even set a school record with a time of 3:31.05 as well as a first place finish. She will participate in the 800m run with Makaila Groves, Kirsten Macintyre, Sarah Majewski and Lauren Morales.

The Mastodons will head back to the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse for the Mastodon Invitational on January 18 at 11 a.m. This meet will serve as Senior Day where Alex Barton, Savannah Girolami, Lexi O'Connell, Robert Peck and Austin Rockstroh will be recognized before the field events begin.
