Final Game in Farmville Goes to Longwood

Purdue Fort Wayne opened the game with a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of runs in the first. Alec Evenson singled in Garret Mohler. Then Evenson stole second and on a throwing error on the play, Robert Young III came around to score.
Aaron Chapman singled in Dylan Stewart in the second but by the end of the second it was a 3-3 game.
The Lancers were up 6-4 after five but the 'Dons got within one in the sixth. Drew Reich pinch hit and doubled with one out. He advanced to third on a flyout and then scored on a Jack Lang double to make the score 6-5.
The difference in the game ended up being a five-run Lancer sixth inning.
Lang had three hits in the game including one of the five doubles the 'Dons recorded. Lang finished with two runs batted in.
Justin Miller started for the 'Dons and went 3.1 innings, giving up five runs (four earned). Trevor Armstrong relieved Miller and gave up two runs (one earned) in 2.0 innings. Miller took the loss.
John Gregory earned the win for the Lancers in relief.
The 'Dons are now 3-1. Longwood is 1-3. The 'Dons are at Miami (Ohio) next weekend.
