Hittin' the Ground Running
The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field program returned to action last Saturday (Jan. 23) with the Mastodon Invitational at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. Two 'Dons set new school records and both teams had a combined four first place finishes. Tyneilus Morrow broke his own school record in the 60 meter dash by .14 seconds and shattered the 200 meter dash record with a time of 22.25. Freshman Dona Fagnon recorded a time of 8.67 in the 60 meter hurdles, .8 seconds faster than the previous school record, allowing him to earn first place. Madison King opened the day with a victory in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:19.57 while Jai Reed had a first place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.35m. Leading the 'Dons in the 60 meter hurdles was Dylan Kirkwood with a time of 9.13.
