Two School Records Finish Out Day Two of Hilltopper Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - At the conclusion of day two of the Hilltopper Relays at Western Kentucky, two Mastodons broke school records on Saturday (April 3) at the Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex.
Braxton Trittipo broke his own record in the 400 meter dash and finished with a time of 50.92 and placed ninth. Logan Alexander also competed in the 400 meter dash and ended the event with a time of 53.23, placing 12th. John Jackman was the second Mastodon to set a school record. Jackman broke the previous record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.15 and earned sixth. Luke Beehler ran his way to ninth place in the with a time of 11.60.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Dona Fagnon placed sixth and completed the race in 15.96. The 4x100 meter relay squad, consisting of Fagnon, Trittipo, Jackman and Brent Donaldson, was third overall with a time of 43.60. That squad was also in the 4x400 meter relay and finished third (3:28.77). The second relay team was made up of Elijah Merida, Conner Bayne, Bryce Taylor and Keagan Stuckey (sixth, 3:38.56). Donaldson was the only Mastodon to compete in the 400 meter hurdles and finished in eighth with a time of 58.98.
Kehinde Oladapo led the way for Purdue Fort Wayne in the 800 meter run. Oladapo placed eighth (2:00.39), Husam Saleh was 10th (2:01.56) and Cory Waldron came in 11th (2:04.18). Oladapo also finished the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:03.11 for seventh. Saleh was next for the 'Dons in ninth (4:05.57). Andrew Whitinger came in 11th (4:08.78), Oneel Occenat placed 12th (4:09.14), Drake Kropf finished in 14th (4:12.93) and Bayne rounded out in 20th (4:33.74).
Aaron Martin was seventh in the discuss, throwing to a mark of 39.89m. Garrett Anglemeyer had a mark of 36.79m and was in 12th while Asher Walden threw 33.87m and placed 15th. Martin won the javelin throw with a mark of 58.02m. Bayne was also in the javelin and came in 6th (37.26m).
Up next for Purdue Fort Wayne is the Indiana Tech Home Meet at Warrior Park on Saturday, April 10. Competition will begin at 1 p.m. with the men's long jump, men's high jump, women's shot put, men's hammer throw and women's 4 x 100 meter relay.
