Jackman Leads 'Dons at Warrior Open With a Record Time

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team traveled across town to Indiana Tech for the Warrior Open on Saturday (April 10). The Mastodons earned a school record and two first place finishes.
John Jackman finished the 100 meter dash with the school-record time of 10.99 and placed 12th overall. Dona Fagnon was close behind in 14th (11.03) and Braxton Trittipo finished in 20th (11.22).
Alex Schipper had a mark of 4.20m in the pole vault, earning first place. Andrew Whitinger took first in the 5000 meter run, recording a time of 15:19.71. Husam Saleh had a time of 15:55.11 (fifth), Draven Thompson clocked in at 16:01.58 (sixth), Drake Kropf ran a time of 16:07.27 (eighth) and Camden Abernathy had a time of 16:53.17 (19th) in the 5000 meters.
Brent Donaldson competed in the 110 meter hurdles and clocked in at 15.81, earning 10th place. Oneel Occenat was 13th with a time of 4:16.21 in the 1500 meter run. In the 800 meter run, Cory Waldron finished in seventh with a time of 1:57.95. Kehinde Oladapo was not far behind in ninth place (1:58.28), Weston Miser was in 11th (1:58.57), Bryce Taylor claimed the 28th spot (2:03.21) and Sebastien Wilson rounded out the Mastodons in 35th (2:05.09). Noah Wright finished the 5000 meter run B section in 17th place with a time of 18:07.49. Connor West was the only Mastodon representative in the 400 meter dash and he recorded a time of 51.90, placing 20th.
Garret Anglemeyer threw a mark of 12.43m in the shot put, finishing in 16th and Tony Ordway was in 23rd with a mark of 11.88m. Elijah Merida claimed the eighth place spot in the javelin with a throw of 39.55m and Logan Alexander earned 16th and had a mark of 29.78m. In the high jump, Lane Hawkins and Austin Dove both jumped to a mark of 1.94m. Hawkins claimed the fifth place spot while Dove was in eighth.
Asher Walden competed in the "B" section for the hammer throw on Friday (April 9) and finished in fourth with a mark of 43.98m. Anglemeyer was seventh (41.99m) and Aaron Martin was 12th (36.65m). Walden and Martin also competed in the discus event on Friday. In eighth place was Walden with a mark of 38.66m and Martin was in 12th and threw to a mark of 34.61m.
Purdue Fort Wayne will head to Terre Haute, Indiana on Thursday (April 15) for the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State. The meet will last April 15-17 and will begin on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the first portion of the men's decathlon.
