Game One – Youngstown State 6, Purdue Fort Wayne 2 (scheduled seven-inning game)
Youngstown State scored two in the second and three in the third. Mastodon starter Kevin Fee put together 5.1 innings of work. He gave up four earned runs and struck out two but took the loss. He is now 0-3.
Sean Ferguson struck out two in the sixth to finish out the contest.
Youngstown State's Collin Floyd went all seven, giving up two runs.
Zac Baden scored for the 'Dons in the fourth and sixth. Baden and Aaron Chapman each had two hits in the contest. Robert Young III added a double.
Turner Grau had a home run for the Penguins.
Game Two – Youngstown State 15, Purdue Fort Wayne 4
Garett Lake knocked a two-run home run for the 'Dons. He hit it in the third inning to make the score 4-2 in favor of the Penguins. Youngstown State added four runs in the bottom of the third to take control of the game at 8-2. The fifth inning saw Andrew Lawvere drive in Trenton Stoner and Chapman to make it an 8-4 game.
Chapman finished with two hits and two runs scored. He also stole a pair of bags. Luke Miles contributed two hits.
Gerald Pintarich falls to 1-5 after going 6.0 innings. Colin Clark went the required five innings to get the win. He is 5-5.
Youngstown State improves to 25-20 (20-14 Horizon). The 'Dons are now 9-27 (6-20 Horizon). The clubs will close out the four-game series on Saturday with a 2 p.m. ET doubleheader.
