'Dons Wrap Up Day One of League Meet

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Dylan Kirkwood sits in fourth place of the heptathlon for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team following day one of the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday (May 7).
Kirkwood is in fourth with 2,895 points. Sophia Buck holds eighth place with 2,300 points and Ramey Wilder is in 10th with 2,148 points. The heptathlon will continue on Saturday.
In the 10,000 meter run, Madison King clocked in a time of 36:12.98, finishing in fifth place. Kiannah Sarver concluded the race in 39:34.02 and earned 15th. Kathy Potter recorded a time of 5:01.55 and came in 16th place in the 1,500 meter run preliminaries.
Abbigail Garwood threw to a mark of 26.95m in the javelin throw, earning 11th overall. Maddi Hardin represented the 'Dons in the discus and reached a mark of 30.58m and came in 18th.
Currently, the Mastodons are in seventh place with four points.
Purdue Fort Wayne will open day two on Saturday (May 8) at 9 a.m. beginning with the remainder of the men's decathlon.
