‘Dons Drop Rubber Game of League Series at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND – The Mastodon softball squad suffered a 10-2 loss at Cleveland State on Sunday (March 20) in Horizon League play.
The 'Dons scored both of their runs off a double by Sonia Solis in the third inning. It made the score 3-2 in favor of the Vikings. It was a 4-2 game when the Vikings scored six in the fifth to end the game.
While the Mastodons scored only two runs in the game, they threatened nearly every inning. They put multiple runners on in four of the five frames and the one inning they didn't, the fourth, they still earned a walk. The 'Dons ended the game with 10 runners left on base.
Solis went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Epiphany Hang added a double.
Senior Shaina Eyre (1-5) started and took the loss in the circle for Purdue Fort Wayne. She went 3.2 innings, with only one of the four runs she allowed being earned.
