GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Purdue Fort Wayne softball team dropped a pair of Horizon League games to Green Bay on Thursday (March 24) on the road 6-3 and 10-2.
GAME 1 | Green Bay 6, Purdue Fort Wayne 3
Shaina Eyre (1-6) started and took the loss in the circle for Purdue Fort Wayne. The right-hander went six innings, giving up six runs, but none earned. She struck out six Green Bay batters.
At the plate, the Mastodons were led by Sonia Solis, who went 1-for-2 on the day with two RBIs. Emma McMillan and Epiphany Hang both went 2-for-3 from the plate.
Green Bay jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. In the fourth, Purdue Fort Wayne got an RBI single from Solis, scoring Alise Hale from second base to get on the board.
The Mastodons kept the deficit at 6-1 before closing the gap further in the sixth. The 'Dons managed to push across two runs in the inning, which brought the score to 6-3 in favor of the Phoenix. The Mastodons were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
