Clark, Johnson Break Program Records at Day Two of WKU Hilltopper Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field student-athletes Katie Clark and Selena Johnson broke program records on day two of the WKU Hilltopper Relays.
Clark broke the record in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 55.95 seconds best the previous record of 56.12 seconds set by Olivia Coleman back on March 31, 2017. Clark finished second overall in the event.
Johnson broke the record in the triple jump. Her jump of 12.08-meter bests her previous record of 11.51 meters set back on March 12. Johnson finished first in the event.
Jesseca Hudson-Turpin tied her record of 14.14 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. She placed second in the event.
In sprint events, Jordan Yanders (14.26 seconds), Dylan Kirkwood (14.67 seconds) and Sophia Buck (14.72) were third, fifth and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. Buck (1:04.43), Hudson-Turpin (1:04.78) and Kirkwood (1:04.79) were second, third and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Clark was seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.40 seconds). Jai Reed was 10th in the 100-meter dash (12.50 seconds).
In mid-distance & distance events, Madison King was fifth in the 1500-meter run (4:40.34). Makaila Groves was seventh in the 800-meter run (2:20.60).
In field events, Mariah Oberhaus (10.57 meters) was eighth in the triple jump.
In throwing events, Megan Sinnott (37.47 meters) and Ramey Wilder (29.26) finished fourth and 10th in the javelin. Nakia Harris-Campbell was 10th in the discus throw (35.33 meters).
The Mastodons travel to Rochester, Mich. to compete in the Golden Grizzles Invite, hosted by Oakland, on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9.
Oakland is set to host the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field championships May 6-8.
