Kirkwood Leads Women's Heptathlon After Day One at Golden Grizzles Invitational

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field student-athlete Dylan Kirkwood leads the women's heptathlon after day one of the Golden Grizzles Invitational.

Through four events, Kirkwood has 2,820 points. She placed first in the 100-meter hurdles (14.43 seconds), second in the high jump (1.51 meters), second in the 200-meter dash (26.48 seconds) and fifth in the shot put (9.77 meters).

Behind Kirkwood is Sophia Buck in fifth place with 2,606 points. Buck placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.74 seconds), high jump (1.45 meters) and shot put (9.86 meters), as well as fifth in the 200-meter dash (27.18 seconds).

Other top finishers include Megan Sinnott finished fourth in the javelin throw (37.62 meters) and 19^th in the weight throw (36.82 meters). Payton McHenry finished 13^th in the long jump (4.49 meters). Abigail Garwood was 17^th in the weight throw (36.94 meters).

Day two of the Golden Grizzles Invitational continues tomorrow starting at 10:15 a.m.
