‘Dons Fall in Doubleheader at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Mastodon softball team dropped both ends of a Horizon League softball doubleheader on Saturday (April 23) afternoon.
GAME 1 | Robert Morris 7, Purdue Fort Wayne 1
The Mastodons were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when the 'Dons made it a 3-1 game. Purdue Fort Wayne got an RBI single from Emma McMillan, scoring junior Thais Uyema from second base. The Mastodons were unable to get any closer, as Robert Morris added four runs to their tally on the way to a 7-1 final.
Sonia Solis went 1-for-2 with a double for the 'Dons in game one.
Shaina Eyre (3-12) took the loss. Alyson Quinlan came out of the bullpen to throw 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
GAME NOTES
» The Mastodons drew four walks.
» Robert Morris was led offensively by Erika Bell, who went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs knocked in.
» Rachael Rhinehart is now 8-4 after throwing 6.0 innings for RMU.

Jadelyn Johnson (1-5) took the loss for the 'Dons. She allowed a pair of runs in 4.0 innings. Alyson Quinlan threw a scoreless inning out of the pen.
At the plate, the Mastodons were led by senior Alise Hale, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI double in the first. Taryn Jenkins also had a double.
The 'Dons held a 1-0 lead until the fifth when RMU scored four times.
