'Dons Host UIC in Crucial Horizon League Series

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne (12-27, 9-10 Horizon) welcomes UIC (14-18, 7-5 Horizon) to Mastodon Field this weekend for a Horizon League series. Saturday will be Senior Day for the 'Dons. UIC sits in second place in the standings in a tightly packed Horizon League race.

Scouting the Flames: UIC didn't have a midweek game this week. They are coming off a 2-1 weekend in league last week, sweeping a doubleheader with Milwaukee and falling in extras to Wright State. On April 19 Ben Higgins was named the Horizon League Batter of the Week. He went 9-of-13 (.692 batting average) with a .750 on-base percentage, 1.154 slugging percentage and a 1.904 OPS. He had two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored.
