'Dons Soar to Dayton to Play Flyers on Tuesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – School is out and the Mastodon baseball team (13-31, 10-14 Horizon League) is hitting the road on Tuesday (May 10) for a non-league game at Dayton.

Scouting the Flyers: Dayton took the final game of a three-game league series at St. Bonaventure on Sunday. It broke a six-game losing streak for the Flyers. Marcos Pujols had a home run for the Flyers in the victory. He leads the team with a .292 batting average. Eli Majick has a team-best 21 appearances on the mound for the Flyers. Dayton defeated the Mastodons 8-4 in 11 innings in Fort Wayne earlier this season.

On April 19 Ben Higgins was named the Horizon League Batter of the Week. He went 9-of-13 (.692 batting average) with a .750 on-base percentage, 1.154 slugging percentage and a 1.904 OPS. He had two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored.
