DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Mastodon baseball team dropped a pair of games at Bethune-Cookman on Saturday (Feb. 25) in non-league action.
Game One – Wildcats 9, Mastodons 5
Bethune-Cookman scored four in the first and two in the third to open the game up.
Jarrett Bickel had four hits for the 'Dons. He scored once. Caileb Johnson recorded three hits including two doubles. He knocked in three. The 'Dons worked seven walks.
Jacob Myer took the loss.
Game Two – Wildcats 7, Mastodons 4
The 'Dons trailed 3-0 after one but tied it at three in the top of the second. Johnson doubled to knock in a pair. Luke Miles singled to score Johnson. The Wildcats added a single run in the second, another in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Rex Stills took the loss for the 'Dons. He went 6.0 innings, giving up five runs on five hits.
Ben Higgins had two hits.
The 'Dons are 1-6. Bethune-Cookman moves to 5-2. The two teams will close the series on Sunday with a single game.
