Middle Game Goes to the Penguins

Firzpatrick homered to left field in the second inning to give the 'Dons a 2-1 lead. He now has three home runs on the season. It was a 3-2 game until the fifth when the Penguins opened the game up with a six-run frame. Braeden O'Shaughnessy had a three-RBI double in the inning.
Braden Gebhardt got the win for YSU. He is 1-3. Nick Perez earned his first save of the season after tossing the final four innings. Brody Fine allowed three runs (two earned) in 3.1 innings with four strikeouts but received the loss. He is 1-5.
Cade Nelis extended his on-base streak to 28 games with an RBI double in the fifth inning. Jarrett Bickel scored on the play. Bickel also had a walk and a hit in the game
Mike Madura tossed a scoreless top of the ninth for the 'Dons in relief.
The 'Dons fall to 10-37 (6-17 Horizon). The Penguins are now 13-23 (8-14 Horizon). The two teams will conclude the season series on Sunday (May 7) in a 1 p.m. first pitch.
