
Mastodons Gear Up for SVSU Classic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field teams will head to SVSU Classic on Friday, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.

Women's Preview
Nakia Harris-Campbell and Lia Rivers were each winners last time out at the Warrior Opener on Dec. 8. Harris-Campbell won the weight throw (16.17 meters) in her second straight meet. Rivers was also a winner for the second straight meet taking the shot put with a mark of 12.87 meters. Both throwers also fared well in the other's events with Harris-Campbell finishing third in the shot put (12.23 meters) and Rivers placing fourth in the weight throw (15.53 meters). At the same meet, Ellie Zagel finished second in the high jump as she cleared the 1.54 meter bar. Melia Marlin and Kelsey Shatava finished in a tie for third in the high jump after they cleared the 1.49 meter bar. On the track, Martia Williams was third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.37. Ellie Zagel, Ramey Wilder, Aubrey Haas and Martia Williams posted a time of 4:27.16 to earn second in the 4x400 relay.
Men's Preview
Brevin Miller posted Purdue Fort Wayne's best finish at the Warrior Opener. Miller's best shot put measured 14.45 meters, good for third place. Owen Kaufman posted the 'Dons' top mark in the weight throw (14.82 meters) to take fourth. Cody Loshe also posted a fourth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing the 4.50 meter bar.

Purdue Fort Wayne will host the Mastodon Invite next weekend on January 20 at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse.
