FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Mastodon runners took the top four spots in the men's 3000 meters at the Mastodon Invite on Saturday (Jan. 20).
Harrison Niswander won the race with his new school record time of 8:20.46. That's just off a facility record for Lutheran Health Fieldhouse as well. In second was Jarred Neff who ran his personal best time of 8:32.87. Austin Hall finished third and also ran a personal best time of 8:33.63. Nathan Mills took fourth and finished in 8:51.58.
Niswander and Neff would later team up with Kobe Milledge and Kehinde Oladapo in the distance medley relay and win the race with a time of 10:18.25. Hall and Mills were a part of the second-place team along with Jack Mills and Seth Mills. Their time was 10:46.91.
Ezra Lewellen and Andrew Roman joined Niswander as individual champions on Saturday. Lewellen won the 60 meters and crossed the line at 6.79. Roman won the pole vault event with the freshman vaulting his collegiate best 4.55m.
Cody Loshe also placed in the pole vault with a third-place vault of 4.45m. Kaden Kruer led the 'Dons in the 60 meter hurdles with a third-place finish and a time of 8.86.
Zyler Johnson had the Mastodons' top marks in the weight throw (16.62 meters) and the shot put (15.44m), finishing second in both events. Brevin Miller finished third in the shot put (15.16m).
Isaac Shreve was Purdue Fort Wayne's top jumper on Saturday. His best long jump measured 6.12m, good for second place.
Purdue Fort Wayne will compete at the Doug Raymond Invitational, hosted by Kent State, next weekend (Jan. 26-27).
