Grace Hollopeter Homers Twice in 6-0 Win Over Montana

EL PASO, Texas - Grace Hollopeter hit two home runs and a double in Purdue Fort Wayne softball's 6-0 win over Montana on Sunday (Feb. 18).
Purdue Fort Wayne's Bailey Manos and Gracie Brinkerhoff were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Hollopeter was responsible for three runs with her 3-for-4 effort at the plate. Both of her home runs were of the solo variety and she had a double in the third inning that brought home McKenna Minton.
In the fourth, Minton doubled to bring Tori Countryman and Ella Carriere home to give the 'Dons a 3-0 lead. Countryman got on base again in the fifth with a single to knock in a run from Epiphany Hang. Hollopeter's home run in the sixth was the icing for the contest, giving the Mastodons the 6-0 lead that held until the final out.
Hollopeter, Brooke Lickey, Countryman and Minton all had a multi-hit contest.
Brinkerhoff threw the opening 4.0 innings and picked up her first win of the season. She struck out four Grizzlies. Alanah Jones struck out two in 2.2 innings of relief. Montana's Emmalyn Brinka took the loss with four earned runs in 4.0 innings pitched.
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 2-7 and Montana falls to 3-7. The Mastodons will take the field again on Friday (Feb. 23) for the opening day of the GATA Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern.
