Mastodons Take on WashU Distance Carnival and Pacesetter Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field teams will travel to both the WashU Distance Carnival (March 27-28), hosted by Washington (Mo.), and the Pacesetter Sports Invitational (March 29), hosted by Indiana State.

Last Time Out for the Women
The Mastodons began the outdoor season at Indiana Wesleyan for the Polar Bear Invite (March 21-22). Ali Sparks threw a school record 54.47 meter mark in the hammer throw, along with a 14.24 meter shot put. Both distances sit atop of the Horizon League standings. Riley Tate ran a 17:31.11 time in the 5000 meters to lead all HL competition. Martia Williams cleared 5.09 meters in the long jump, ranking second in the league. Ella Jenkins finished the 400 meter hurdles in 1:06.34, which also sits second in the league.
Last Time Out for the Men
The 'Dons opened the outdoor season at the Polar Bear Invite on March 21-22 at Indiana Wesleyan. Freshman Josiah Bird threw a school record mark of 47.78 meters in his collegiate discus debut. Nine Mastodons finished the meet leading the Horizon League in their respective events: Sam Dunnett (1500 meters), 4x400 meter relay (Boden Genovese, Dunnett, Colin Gasson, Tyler Hess), Michael Drohosky (high jump), Andrew Roman (pole vault), Damien Keys (long jump), Hunter Crew (hammer throw) and Brevin Miller (javelin).
