Haylee Hile and Jordan Yanders Win Events at the Little State Championships

MARION, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field program finished competition at Indiana Wesleyan's Little State Championships on Saturday (April 12).
Haylee Hile won the 3000 meter steeplechase at Indiana Wesleyan, competing as the lone Mastodon in the event. Hile completed the event in 11:06.16, the Horizon League's third-quickest finish.
Jordan Yanders finished with the fastest 100 meter hurdles time (14.08) at the Little State Championships. Freshman Jaliyah Page ran the event in 14.69.
Francesca Carlo (46.22 meters) and Makenna Dommer (36.53 meters) threw personal-record marks in the hammer throw. Carlo's distance ranks fifth in the league. McKayla Henry (40.58 meters), Emery Carrico (36.17 meters) and Hayma Ong (35.02 meters) also competed in the event.
Ava Genovese ran a personal record 2:17.38 in the 800 meters, ninth in the HL. Bella Hodges completed the event in 2:18.35.
Riley Tate finished the 1500 meters in 4:47.30.
Lydia Carrell completed the 5000 meters in 17:56.85.
Carrico also competed in discus, throwing a mark of 35.32 meters.
