'Dons Set Six Personal Records at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team completed their second day at the Gibson Invitational on Friday (April 18), hosted by Indiana State.
The heptathlon finished the work they started on day one (April 19) of the meet, all three Mastodons ended with top-10 marks in the Horizon League. Ellie Zagel set a new heptathlon personal record with 4688 points, good for third in the league. The sophomore also ran a personal record 200 meter dash time of 26.02. Freshman Amelie Mach completed her first collegiate heptathlon, scoring 4285 points and sitting fourth in the HL. The Illinois native set personal records in the 100 meter hurdles (15.04) and 800 meters (2:30.46), she also competed in her first collegiate 200 meter dash (25.50) and javelin throw (19.62 meters). Aubrey Haas finished the heptathlon with 3493 points, sixth in the Horizon League.
Makenna Dommer (42.22 meters) and Ali Sparks (42.17 meters) both threw personal record marks in the discus throw. Dommer's toss is the second-furthest throw in the league, Sparks' mark sits third. McKayla Henry threw for 34.93 meters in the event.
Kynzlei Bassett completed her first collegiate 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:53.41.
Fort Wayne local Emery Carrico threw a 36.30 meter javelin mark at Indiana State. England native Emilia Russell finished with a 30.74 meter mark in the event.
Sophomore Faith Allen ran the 5000 meters in 18:54.80.
Allen, Francesca Carlo, Carrico, Henry, Lillian Hurd, Ella Jenkins, Harmony Johnson, Kaylee Rogaczewski, Sanayah Ruffin, Jaliyah Page, Sparks, Marissa Van De Weg, Scout Warner, Martia Williams, Jordan Yanders and Aniya Young will compete in day three (April 19) of the Gibson Invitational.
