'Dons Break 4x100 School Record at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team finished competition at the Gibson Invitational on Saturday (April 19), hosted by Indiana State.
The 4x100 meter relay squad of Jordan Yanders, Lillian Hurd, Aniya Young and Harmony Johnson started off track competition by breaking their own school record with the Horizon League's fastest mark of 46.29. Their previous record, set at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting (April 5), only lasted two weeks.
Ali Sparks threw a 13.84 meter shot put mark and 50.03 meters in the hammer throw at the Gibson Invitational.
Senior Marissa Van De Weg ran a 1:01.42 in the 400 meter hurdles.
Freshman Jaliyah Page ran a personal record time of 14.50 in the 100 meter hurdles. Yanders finished the event in 14.34.
Hurd ran the 400 meter dash in 56.98 at Indiana State.
Freshman Scout Warner cleared a personal record high jump mark of 1.55 meters.
The Mastodons will travel to Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational (April 25-26) and the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet (April 26).
