Ella Jenkins Sets PR at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field team competed in day one of the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Friday (April 25), hosted by Louisville.
Ella Jenkins ran a personal record 400 meter hurdles time of 1:03.41. The sophomore ranks seventh in the Horizon League in the event. Indiana native Marissa Van De Weg ran 1:01.71 in the event. The Junior's time would rank fourth in the league, but she already sits third.
Ali Sparks threw a 48.59 meter hammer throw. The distance would rank seventh in the HL, but she currently holds the top spot. The Fort Wayne native also threw 12.43 meters in the shot put.
Freshman Kaylee Rogaczewski cleared 5.63 meters in the long jump, a mark that sits eighth in the Horizon League.
Three Mastodons competed in the 200 meter dash. Lillian Hurd's 24.69 would be the eighth-quickest mark in the league, but she already holds second. Harmony Johnson finished in 25.02 and Aniya Young crossed the finish line at 25.38.
Emery Carrico threw a mark of 36.07 meters in the javelin throw. The distance would sit eighth in the HL, but she already sits seventh.
Freshman Scout Warner cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump.
Makenna Dommer, Hurd, Jenkins, Johnson, Jaliyah Page, Rogaczewski, Sanayah Ruffin, Martia Williams, Jordan Yanders and Young will compete in day two (April 25).
Faith Allen, Kynzlei Bassett, Francesca Carlo, Lydia Carrell, Ava Genovese, Haylee Hile, Bella Hodges, Faith Norris, Hayma Ong, Haley Sponaugle, Riley Tate and Amanda Williams will also be competing at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet (April 26).
