Dunnett, Hall and Mills Break School Records at GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. & LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field program wrapped up the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet and Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Saturday (April 26) by breaking three school records.
Sam Dunnett broke the 1500 meters school record at GVSU. His time of 3:49.48 ranks fifth in Horizon League standings.
Austin Hall ran a school record time of 14:21.66 in the 5000 meters at the Extra Weekend Meet, sitting seventh in the league. Senior Jackson Marshall ran a personal record 15:05.20 in the event.
The Mastodons showed out in GVSU's 800 meters, setting six personal records and two of those under the previous school record time. Nicholas Mills led the 'Dons in the event, claiming the new 1:53.45 school record. Boden Genevese, who previously held the 800 meters crown, set a personal record time of 1:54.39 that would have also been a school record. Joshua Roper (1:55.49), Colin Gasson (1:56.76), Tyler Hess (1:59.43) and Troy Golden (2:01.19) also set PR's in the event.
Jonas Morris tied his 400 meter dash personal record time at Louisville, running the HL's fastest 47.70. Freshman Noah Morris ran his personal best of 48.67 in the event, ranking fourth in the Horizon League.
The 4x400 meter relay squad of Ezra Lewellen, Cainen Northington, Noah Morris and Jonas Morris ran the league's second-quickest time of 3:17.38 at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational.
Harrison Niswander completed the 3000 meter steeplechase in 9:14.38 at the Extra Weekend Meet, second fastest in the HL.
Lewellen also competed in the 100 meter dash at Louisville, finishing in 10.51 for third in the Horizon League.
The Mastodons will travel to Youngstown for the 2025 Horizon League Outdoor Championships on May 9-11.
