Purdue Fort Wayne Heads to Cleveland For #HLSB Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne softball will take on in its first Horizon League Championship run this week. The Mastodons will play against Northern Kentucky in the first round of the Horizon League Championship on Wednesday (May 7). The rest of the tournament will be dependent on results from the rest of the games.

Playoff Picture
The Horizon League Championship is a double-elimination tournament with the top-six finishers from the Horizon League regular season earning a berth to the event. The six teams in attendance, in order of seeding, are: Cleveland State, Robert Morris, IU Indianapolis, Purdue Fort Wayne, Northern Kentucky, Green Bay.
League Dubs
The Mastodons had 14 league wins this season, the best of head coach Amber Bowman's four-year career with the Mastodons. That mark is also the most for the Mastodons since 2012.

Alanah Jones has 28 wins in her career, which is the fourth-most in program history. She has 13 wins this season, which is also top-10. That ranks second-best in the Horizon League this season, and her 10 league wins this year is also second-best.
Player of the Weeks
Grace Hollopeter has been named Horizon League Player of the Week twice this season. She owns five Player of the Week awards in her career, the most of any Mastodon in program history.
Owning the Batter's Box
Grace Hollopeter finished Horizon League play in the top-five in the league in slugging percentage (.739), on-base percentage (.477), OPS (1.216), home runs (7), walks (14) and RBIs (29) this season.
She's The Manos
Bailey Manos had a .403 batting average in league play, the third-best in the HL. Her .649 slugging percentage ranked sixth and on-base percentage of .484 ranked second. She led the league with 29 runs and four triples in HL action.
Tell 'em Tori!
Tori Countryman finished the Horizon League season with a .368 batting average, ranking seventh in the league.
Pitcher of the Week
Gracie Brinkerhoff was named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on April 29 thanks to a complete victory over Northern Kentucky. She had a 0.00 ERA with three strikeouts in the 3-1 win.
