FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field program hosts their lone home meet, the Mastodon Invitational (Jan. 17), on Saturday. 23 Mastodon seniors will be honored at 10 a.m. prior to the meet.

The Mastodon Alumni Team consists of former Purdue Fort Wayne track and field and cross country student athletes. Nicholas Mills (2020-25) was a member of the 2025 DMR squad that earned runner-up in the Horizon League Indoor Championships. Nicholas Mills also was selected to the 2025 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team after being an honorable mention in outdoor of 2023. Nathan Mills (2020-25) was a two-time Horizon League All-Academic League selection, once in 2021 and again in 2025. Draven Thompson (2019-23) was a DMR runner-up in the 2023 Horizon League Indoor Championships. Mercedes Sarver (2020-25) was an eight-time selection to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll. Alex Barton (2019-20) was named to the 2019-20 Summit League Academic Honor Roll. Sebastien Wilson (2019-22) Was named to the 2019-20 Summit League Academic Honor Roll.
Men's Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne opened the season at Notre Dame's Blue-Gold Invitational (Dec. 5). The Mastodons set three school records while in South Bend, two set by freshman in their first collegiate events. Braydn Livingston, trailed by Kale Seymour and Joshua Roper, led a trio of 'Dons to finish under the school's record time in the 1000 meters. Livingston recorded a time of 2:30.89 to put his name in the Purdue Fort Wayne records. Another three Mastodons bested the 500 meters record: Reagan Shaver, Ambrose English and Aaron Hoffer. Shaver was the first 'Dons to finish, clocking a time of 1:03.47 for the record. Josiah Bird finished the meet off strong, throwing a shot put mark of 15.91 meters to set a new school record.
Women's Last Time Out
The Mastodons traveled to Notre Dame for their season opener, the Blue-Gold Invitational (Dec. 5). While in South Bend, Purdue Fort Wayne broke two school records. Lillian Hurd ran a 39.32 300 meters, breaking the former record. Sanayah Ruffin ran a 500 meter time of 1:15.83 to etch her name in the school records.
#HLTF Indoor Preseason Polls
The Mastodon women's team earned 76 points in the polls, behind Youngstown State (98) and Milwaukee (90). The Penguins took eight first place votes, leaving two for the Panthers. The Mastodon men tallied 42 points in the polls. Youngstown State (63) and Milwaukee (57) owned the top of the men's preseason polls as well, the Penguins took seven of the eight first place votes.
Senior Showdown
Each year the Mastodon mid-distance and long-distance runners compete in a team DMR competition. Four seniors are named as captains and draft from the remaining runners. This year's teams are: team gray (captain Colin Gasson, Jack Strong, Kale Seymour and Andrew Arnos), team blue (captain Seth Mills, Boden Genovese, Marcus Ridge and Daniel Mullett), team gold (captain Colten Gasson, Braydn Livingston, Troy Golden and Jackson Marshall) and team black (captain Jack Mills, Joshua Roper, Sam Dunnett and Tyler Godwin). Last year's team, consisting of Nathan Mills, Austin Hall, Tyler Godwin and Colin Gasson, won the DMR competition when Hall caught up to Nicholas Mills on the last lap to take the victory.
