Fort Wayne, IN - Fresh off of an exciting, 76-72 overtime win against UMKC on Thursday night, the IPFW men's basketball team will host Summit League foe Southern Utah on Saturday night at the Memorial Coliseum.

IPFW is led in scoring by senior guard Ben Botts at 14.5 points a game. Redshirt sophomore guard Frank Gaines is second on the team in scoring at 14.0 ppg., while junior forward Trey McCorkle rounds out the top-three scorers for the Mastodons at 10.7 points a contest.

Ben Botts has hit for double-digits in five of six contests so far this year and in his last two has scored 18 and 20 points, respectively. John Peckinpaugh had a career-high nine rebounds and a season-high 10 points against UMKC. IPFW put five players in double figures for the first time this season against the Kangaroos. SCOUTING THE THUNDERBIRDS
Junior guard Ray Jones, Jr. leads the T-Birds in scoring at 11.1 points a game. Junior forward Matt Massey, a member of the Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament Team, is averaging 10.6 points a contest, while junior guard/forward Ramell Taylor rounds out the top-three scorers for Southern Utah at 9.7 points a game.

Southern Utah played well against Oakland, hitting 43.6% of their shots from the field, but couldn't overcome Oakland's 52.5% from the floor. SUU is one of the tallest teams IPFW will face in The Summit League. Included in the tall trees is 6-11 sophomore forward Matt Hodgson who is second in the league in blocked shots. IPFW swept the season series in 2009-10 but both games were very close.
