
Ohio Takes Two In Saturday Doubleheader

ATHENS, Ohio – IPFW took two losses on Saint Patrick's Day as the Bobcats swept the doubleheader 10-1 and 6-1. Lucas Salerno went 2-for-3 in the second game of the series leading the way for the 'Dons.
IPFW was limited to just two hits in game one of the doubleheader. Ohio jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings of play. IPFW cut the lead to 4-1 after the fourth, but a three-run seventh and eighth inning sealed the win.
Carter DeBoe scored the lone run of the game for the Mastodons. He led off the inning by drawing a walk. Kristian Gayday recorded an RBI double to left field sending DeBoe home. IPFW's other hit came in the third inning. Clay Hathaway found room through the left side of the infield to record a single.
Travis Reboulet got the start on the hill for IPFW. He threw seven innings and struck out six batters. Drew Overman finished the game's final inning of the game. He allowed three runs off four hits, while striking out one.
Gayday also went 2-for-5 in game two with one run scored. The Bobcats put up three runs in the bottom of the third and one each in the fifth and sixth. An additional run in the eighth would end the game putting the final at 6-1.
Jason Kalber was on the hill for IPFW in game two. Kalber threw eight complete innings and struck out seven batters.
