
Ball State Drops Men’s Tennis 5-2

MUNICE, Ind. – The IPFW men's tennis team lost at Ball State on Wednesday 5-2. The Mastodons won the doubles point, but were defeated in five out of the six singles matches. With the loss, IPFW is now 3-6 overall.
IPFW earned the first point of the afternoon by winning two out of three in doubles play. Connor Andrews and Martin Muadi posted an 8-4 win in No. 2 Doubles and the duo of Gerard Guell and Andres Cobos won No. 3 Doubles 8-6.
Singles competition was one-sided as the Cardinals won in convincing fashion. Muadi did comeback to defeat Austin Sansone in No. 6 Singles 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 but the rest of team was unable to record a win.
Joao Freitas put up a fight in No. 5 Singles against Austin Smith. He was ultimately defeated 6-2, 1-6, 3-6. Daniel Kang lost No. 1 Singles 6-2, 6-4 and Cobos was knocked out in No. 2 Singles 6-4, 6-2.
Andrews and Jonathan Raa rounded out the singles play. Andrews lost in No. 3 Singles 6-0, 6-1 and Raa lost 6-2, 6-4 in No.4 Singles.
