
Men’s Tennis at Home this Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's tennis team will host Trine and Toledo this weekend at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club. The Mastodons will face the Thunder at 2 p.m. and the Rockets at 7:30 p.m.
The Mastodons won their last match 4-3 over Niagara on March 4. The team was off last weekend, but will return this weekend with a doubleheader.
Martin Muadi has been one of the best players on the team posting a 7-6 record in singles play. Muadi primarily plays No. 6 Singles. Daniel Kang is 5-9 in No. 1 action and the duo of Connor Andrews and Andres Cobos have split time at No. 2 Singles. Andrews is 2-5 in that slot and Cobos is 3-4.
Doubles competition has gone well for IPFW as the team is 19-22 overall. Kang and Joao Freitas play No. 1 Doubles and post an overall record of 7-6. Andrews and Muadi form the No. 2 team. They are 7-6 and the tandem of Cobos and Gerard Guell are 4-5.
SCOUTING TRINE
The Thunder are currently on a four-match winning streak with wins over St. Louis Pharmacy, Malone, Post, and Alvernia. Caleb Knust and Daniel Desper are the top two singles players on the roster. Knust is 7-2 at No. 1 Singles and Desper is 6-3 at No. 3. Knust and Desper are the second-best doubles pair on the team with a 3-6 record. Nick Ihrie and David Murray are 5-0 as a team. They have played four matched at No. 3 Doubles and one match at No. 2 Doubles.
SCOUTING TOLEDO
The Rockets are 15-6 overall. They have won four straight matches and will host Dayton Saturday morning before traveling to Fort Wayne to face the Mastodons Saturday night at 7:30.
