
Men’s Tennis Drops 4-2 Decision at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS – The Mastodons won the doubles point on Friday night, but the Jaguars came back to take a 4-2 win after a strong finish in singles action. IPFW is now 7-13 overall with a 1-1 Summit League mark.
Daniel Kang and Joao Freitas improved to 12-7 as a team in doubles competition by defeating Volz and Bradley 8-4. They have now won four-straight matches heading into Saturday's match with Kansas City. Connor Andrews and Martin Muadi gave IPFW the point with an 8-4 win over Shafer and O'Neill at the No. 2 spot.
IUPUI made a strong push at the beginning of singles play by recording wins at No. 1 (6-2, 6-1) and No. 2 (6-4, 6-1) to take a 2-1 lead, but Andres Cobos tied things up with a 6-4, 6-2 win in No. 3 Singles. Cobos is now 11-9 overall in singles competition.
The Jaguars earned the win with two highly contested matches at No. 4 and No. 5 with Shafer defeating Frietas 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 and Choudhary beating Muadi 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
IPFW will return to campus to host Kansas City on Saturday at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club at 2 p.m.
