Men's Tennis Splits Locations over Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team plays a pair of matches in Kalamazoo, Mich., including one today and one tomorrow, before making a return trip to Fort Wayne for a Saturday afternoon match against Wright State.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are off to a 4-2 start on the season, and have won their last four matches, including a 4-3 thriller over Detroit on February 7. Martin Muadi is 5-1 this year for IPFW at No. 5 singles, while Karl Wangensten-Oye is 4-2 at No. 6. Daniel Kang (No. 1), Andres Cobos (No. 3), and Gerard Guell (No. 3), are all 3-3 at their respective singles positions. Cobos and Kang have a 4-2 record at No. 1 doubles, while Jonathan Raa and Wangensten-Oye are also 4-2 at No. 3 doubles.

The pair is 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Joey Leto and Michael Tebon is 3-4 as a duo this season combining time at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. In singles, Leo Gomez Islinger is 7-1 having played at No. 1 (1-0), No. 2 (2-0), and No. 3 (4-1). Tenzer is 5-2 this season, 1-2 at No. 1 and 2-0 at both No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

In their five matches this season, Wright State has faced two nationally ranked teams in Ohio State (No. 5) and Kentucky (No. 17), providing two of the team's three losses. Lauri Makikalli is 3-1 at No. 1 singles this year for the Raiders, who have a dual match singles record of 10-15 through five matches. In doubles the Raiders are 5-4, led by 2-1 records from Michael Lyzwa and Makikalli at No. 2 and Dan Gilbert and Myles Harris at No. 3.
