Men's Tennis Rallies for Fourth Straight Win

DETROIT, Mich. - The IPFW men's tennis team won its fourth straight match, and second by a 4-3 score, topping the Detroit Titans in Michigan by a 4-3 score.
The win improves IPFW to 4-2 on the year, as the team will next face off against Western Michigan in a Valentines Day match in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Gerard Guell and Martin Muadi picked up the first win in doubles, winning by a 6-3 score at No. 2 doubles. Daniel Kang and Andres Cobos earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, giving IPFW the point from the doubles portion of the match.
Leading 1-0, the Mastodons fell at No. 2 singles when Jonathan Raa fell 6-1, 6-5 (6-4), knotting the match at one win apiece. Karl Wangensten-Oye followed up with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles to push IPFW into a 2-1 lead in the match.
Detroit's Rafael Orantes won 6-3, 6-2 over Guell at No. 4 singles, once again knotting the score, this time at 2-2. Patryk Koscielski of Detroit followed with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Andres Cobos, putting the Mastodons on the verge of dropping the match, trailing 3-2.
The Mastodons fought back, tying the match with a Kang 4-6, 6-5 (8-6), 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, before Muadi's 5-6, 6-2, 6-5 (7-5) win at No. 5 singles gave IPFW the 4-3 victory.
