Men's Tennis Sweeps Indiana Tech at Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team improved to 8-5 in the spring season after making quick work of in-city foe Indiana Tech on Friday afternoon, topping the Warriors 7-0.
The Mastodons swept through the doubles portion of the meet, as all three of the doubles groups won 8-3, as the pair of Andres Cobos and Daniel Kang were the first to finish at No. 1 doubles. The No. 3 pair of Karl Wangensten-Oye and Connor Andrews were the second to finish, guaranteeing the Mastodons the doubles point, before Gerard Guell and Martin Muadi closed out their win at No. 2 pairs.
In singles, Daniel Kang quickly won by a 6-1, 6-2 score at No. 1 singles, before Guell picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3. Andrews shut out his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, while also securing the team's victory with the fourth point of the day.
Cobos' 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles followed, while Muadi also won in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Wangensten-Oye was the final match to close on Saturday at No. 6 singles, winning 7-5, 4-6, 10-6.
IPFW takes to the road for a single match at Western Michigan on March 9, starting at noon, before the team returns home for its next five matches from March 21 until April 1.
