Men's Tennis Looks to Continue Run at Western Kentucky

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team will look to continue its run of four wins in its last five games, when the squad travels to Bowling Green, Ky., to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons come into the match after a 7-0 win over Indiana Tech, and recent wins over Youngstown State, Robert Morris, and Wright State.
Daniel Kang has played each singles match at No. 1, and has a 13-9 record after setting the school record for career singles wins earlier this year. Martin Muadi is 16-7 this season (2-2 at No. 4 and 6-2 at No. 5), while Gerard Guell is 15-8 (3-1 at No. 3, 6-3 at No. 4). In doubles the pair of Kang and Andres Cobos are 7-6 at No. 1, while Guell and Muadi are 7-5 at No. 2, and Jonathan Raa and Karl Wangensteon-Oye are 5-3 at No. 3.
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
Western Kentucky comes into the match with a 2-3 overall record with wins over Georgetown (Ky.) and Bellarmine, and losses to Southern Indiana, Austin Peay, and Morehead State.
Josh Smith leads the Hilltoppers in singles play with a 4-1 record, 4-0 at No. 3 singles. J.T. Closi is 3-2 at No. 1 singles, while Alex Stewart and Alex Taranda are each 2-2 individually this year. Closi and Taranda team up at No. 1 pairs with a 2-2 overall record, as no other doubles tandem has more than two matches together this year.
