Men's Tennis to Open Summit Championships on Saturday

DENVER - The IPFW men's tennis team will look to continue the best season in program history on Saturday afternoon when the team faces off against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in the 2014 Summit League Tournament Semifinals.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the match after seeing Brett Barnett named the Summit League Coach of the Year, and two players, Daniel Kang and Gerard Guell named to the All-Summit League squad.
Guell has a team-high 27 victories this season, and a 27-9 overall record - 13-1 at No. 3 singles - while Martin Muadi is 25-11, 15-5 at No. 5. Kang is 22-13, with a 17-9 mark at No. 1 singles, while freshman Karl Wangensten-Oye is 20-12 with a 18-5 record at No. 6.
In doubles, Andres Cobos and Kang are a dominating 24-10 at No. 1 doubles, while Guell and Muadi are a combined 15-10 at No. 2 pairs.

South Dakota State comes into the tournament with a 16-7 overall record, and have won four of its last five matches.
Leading the way for the team has been Gary Notkin who has a 20-9 overall record, playing primarily at No. 6 singles, and is 9-6 at the position in the lineup. Lovro Curcija is 18-11 for the Jackrabbits, 9-7 at No. 3 singles, with Mateus Moreira (17-8) and Henrique Pereira (17-12) each sitting with 17 victories, Moreira at No. 5 and Pereira at No. 4.
In doubles, Andrea Boglic and Parker Lawley have a 12-6 combined record, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, as the team has used 19 different doubles pairs on the year.
