Two Top-10 Finishes Lead the Mastodons to Second Place

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The IPFW women's cross country team finished in second place, behind only Alabama State, in the silver race in the Greater Louisville Classic.

Leading the way for the women were two freshman, Emma Rafuse and Rebecca Sippel, Rafuse finished in fifth out of 365 runners, with a personal best time of 18:51.73, while Sippel came in at 18:55.49 finishing in seventh.

The third runner to cross the finishing line for the Blue and White was Breanna Fensler who finished in 24th with a career best time of 19:34.12. Rachel Kacer came in at 19:44.18 putting her in 35th. Brittany Fensler rounded out the scoring for IPFW with a 64th place finish and a time of 20:11.91. Caitlyn Kiekhaefer, Andrea Bell, and Taylor Busch also competed in the event. Kiekhaefer finished in 81st with a time of 20:21.88, Bell had a time of 20:57.14 putting her in 133th, and Busch finished in 250th with a time of 22:23.33.

The team is back in action on October 17 when they travel to Evansville to compete in the UE Invitational.
