Women's Cross Country Open in Walt Crawford Open

Charleston, Ill. - The IPFW women's cross country team finished third at the 2015 Walt Crawford Open finishing behind Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois- Edwardsville, while placing ahead of Southern Illinois- Carbondale.
The women were led by freshman Rebecca Sippel who finished fifth with a time of 18:54.54 over the 5,000 meters as another freshmen Emma Rafuse placed 11th when she posted a time of 19:15.73.
Rachel Kacer ran a time of 20:16.05 placing 23rd, while Breanna Fensler and Caitlyn Kiekhaefer finished back-to-back rounding out the scoring for IPFW. Fensler finished with a time of 20:41.38, placing 28th while Kiekhaefer posted a time of 20:44.15, placing 29th.
Andrea Bell, Brittany Fensler, and Taylor Busch also competed in the event, Bell placed 31st with a time of 20:53.46, Fensler finished with time of 21:15.55, placing 34th, and Taylor placed 41st with a time of 26:33.48.
The squad returns to action on September 19 when the Mastodons travel to Gainsville, Florida to compete in the Mountain Dew Gator Invitational.
