Women’s Cross Country Takes Fourth At Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Three Mastodons finished in the top 15 for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's cross country team at the Evansville Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 19) morning.
The 'Dons took fourth with 93 points at the nine team 5K event. Morehead State (36) won the team title.
Freshman Kathy Potter finished 10th with a time of 19:12.4. Fellow freshman Makaila Groves was in 12th (19:16.1) with her best time as a Mastodon. Sophia Hirzel took 14th (19:22.2).
Kenzie Smith ran a time of 20:48.8 to finish in 28th. Elana Kayser grabbed 32nd place (20:59.2) and Lauren Morales (23:03.1) was in 54th to round out the Mastodons on the day. Both were career bests for the freshmen.
Saturday's meet was the final before the Summit League Championships set for Nov. 2. North Dakota State is hosting the league meet this season.
