Mastodons Fall At Toledo 13-8

TOLEDO, Ohio – Garrett Mohler, Robert Young III and Jack Lang each had two hits in Purdue Fort Wayne's non-league game at Toledo on Tuesday (May 14). The Mastodons fell to the Rockets 13-8.
Toledo scored four runs in the second only to see the 'Dons respond with four in the top of the third. Alec Brunson had an RBI and Garrett Mohler recorded a two-run home run in the inning.
After two Toledo runs in the third, the 'Dons put four on the board in the fifth to take an 8-6 lead. Young had an RBI and Dylan Stewart recorded a two-RBI double to left center in the inning.
The Rockets took the lead back with six runs in the sixth and another in the seventh. Darryn Davis had three hits for the Rockets. Bryce Davis got the win for Toledo. Shane Odzark received the loss for the Mastodons.
The 'Dons recorded five stolen bases in the contest. Stewart had two walks to go with his double.
Duane Miller threw a scoreless inning. He hasn't allowed a run in five straight appearances.
Toledo improves to 17-33. Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 6-43.
Purdue Fort Wayne will close out the season with a three-game series against Western Illinois. It will be a Thursday/Friday/Saturday series. First pitch on Thursday is set for 3 p.m.
