CHICAGO - Purdue Fort Wayne women's cross country came out with a 13th place finish out of 30 teams at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational 5K on Saturday (Sept. 28).

Top runner of the day for the Mastodons was freshman Kathy Potter. Potter came in 22nd out of 276 runners and had a PR time of 19:44.45. Behind Potter was Makaila Groves with another PR time of 19:56.97 and came in 36th place. Sophia Hirzel rounded out for the Mastodons in the Top 50. Hirzel finished in 45th place with a time of 20:06.97. Kenzie Smith (111th, 21:25.77), Elana Kayser (168th, 22:39.03) and Lauren Morales (222nd, 24:00.05) concluded for the Mastodons. Smith and Morales came away with a PR of their own at Loyola.

Purdue Fort Wayne finished with 312 points. Winner of the meet for the women's was Marquette with 66 points.

The Joe Paine Invitational is up next for Purdue Fort Wayne. The Invite will be held at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. on October 4 at 2:30 p.m.
