
'Dons Record 12 Hits But Middle Game Goes to Miami

Alex Evenson, Jack Lang, Dylan Stewart and Garrett Mohler each had two hits. Evenson had both hits go for doubles. The 'Dons had five doubles in the contest.
The 'Dons opened the scoring with one in the first before Miami responded with a run in their half of the first. It was a 4-1 Miami lead to start the fifth when Garett Lake singled in a pair with two outs in the top of the inning to make the score 4-3. Miami responded with two runs in the fifth and then another in the sixth to close out their scoring in the contest.
Chase Phelps went 3.0 innings and was handed the loss. He is now 1-1 after allowing three runs. Michael Madura went the rest of the way for the 'Dons. Tyler Bosma earned the win for Miami and is also 1-1. Jacob Webb received the save.
Purdue Fort Wayne left nine on in the contest, including two in the ninth inning.
Miami improves to 2-3. The 'Dons fall to 3-3. The two teams will conclude the series on Sunday.
