Mastodons Record Nine Hits in Loss to Richmond

Aaron Chapman and Dylan Stewart each had two hits in the game. Chapman opened the game with a single and scored on a Garrett Mohler RBI single. Jack Lang later scored on sacrifice fly to put the 'Dons up 2-0. Richmond matched the two runs with their own pair in the bottom of the first.
The 'Dons took the lead back in the third when Garett Lake knocked in Chapman. Chapman started the inning with a double. Lake's RBI made it a 3-2 game. Richmond added two of their own in the third to go up 4-3. Evenson's home run in the fourth knotted it up at four but Richmond went up for good thanks to a six-spot in the fifth.
Tyler Kissinger took the loss. He is now 1-3 after giving up seven runs in 4.0 innings. Michael Madura tossed the final four frames. Tim Miller (2-0) went the distance for the Spiders. Richmond's Dan Leckie recorded three singles and a walk while driving in four.
Richmond improves to 3-10 while the 'Dons are now 3-9. Purdue Fort Wayne will play Longwood on Saturday.
