Four School Records Highlight Day Two

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On day two of the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships, four Mastodons set a school record in their events on Friday (Feb. 27) at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse.
Dona Fagnon reset his own school record in the 60 meter hurdle prelims with a time of 8.40, nearly .1 seconds faster than his previous record set at the second Mastodon Invitational on February 12. Fagnon finished in second place and will head into the finals on Sunday (Feb. 28). He also competed in the 60 meter dash and recorded a time of 7.00, placing in sixth and advancing to the finals. Ian Bollheimer clocked in at 7.12 (10th) and John Jackman had a time of 7.26 (19th).
Elijah Merida set the school record in the men's heptathlon with 3,882 points. Merida finished the heptathlon in seventh place. Logan Alexander was in 10th (3,297) and Conner Bayne was in 11th (2,699).
Luke Beehler was the only Purdue Fort Wayne representative in the long jump and jumped to a mark of 6.75 and placed seventh, breaking his own record from the 2019-20 season.
Cory Waldron clocked in a time of 1:58.59 in the 800 meter run and was in seventh place, advancing to the finals and breaking the school record set in 2016 by Logan Kitchen. Kehinde Oladapo was in 10th (1:59.27), Weston Miser finished in 11th (1:59.80), Bryce Taylor placed 15th (2:02.57), Keagan Stuckey came in 17th (2:04.01) and Sebastien Wilson concluded for the Mastodons in 21st (2:09.12).
Connor West led the 'Dons in the 400 meter dash and ended the race in 10th place (51.85). Braxton Trittipo wasn't far behind in 13th (52.08) and Brent Donaldson rounded out for the Mastodons in 18th (52.79).
Garrett Anglemeyer competed in the shot put and threw to a mark of 14.03m and was in ninth place. Aaron Martin was in 13th (12.69m) and Tony Ordway was in 14th (12.54m).
Purdue Fort Wayne will continue to day three in sixth place with a team total of 11 points. The third day of competition will begin at 11 a.m. ET with the mile finals.
