'Dons Finish Sixth at the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After four days of competition at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse, the Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team finished sixth overall at the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Monday (March 1) with 31 points, a whole 24 points higher than at the 2020 Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Freshman Alex Schipper made his collegiate debut in the pole vault and reached a mark of 4.30m, allowing him to place fifth. Landin Keiffer also made his first collegiate appearance in the pole vault and had a mark of 3.75m while finishing 10th.
The 4x400 relay squad concluded the event in fourth place with a time of 3:25.19. The relay team consisted of Brent Donaldson, Dona Fagnon, Braxton Trittipo and Kehinde Oladapo. Fagnon competed in the 200 meter finals and had a time of 22.87, finishing in eighth.
Andrew Whitinger led the way for the 'Dons in the 3000 meter run and recorded a time of 8:54.46, an 11th place finish. Nicholas Mills was in 18th (9:04.28), Nathan Mills came in 20th (9:10.23) and Drake Kropf was 26th (9:40.76).
Purdue Fort Wayne was six points away from IUPUI in fifth place by the end of the meet. The overall team champion was Youngstown State with 218 points and Milwaukee was the runner-up with 180.5 points.
