Four Records Set at Margaret Simmons Invite

MURRAY, Ky. - Competing in the outdoor season for the first time since 2003, the Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field set four school records at the Margaret Simmons Invite at Murray State University on Saturday (March 27).
Braxton Trittipo led the way for the Mastodons in the 400 meter dash with a school record time of 51.43 and a 15th place finish. Connor West was in 23rd with a time of 53.26. Freshman Dona Fagnon set the school record in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.62 and placed ninth. Brent Donaldson was right behind Fagnon in 10th and clocked in at 15.77. Elijah Merida jumped to a mark of 6.70 meters in the long jump and placed sixth, earning another school record. Luke Beehler finished in seventh with a mark of 6.66 meters. Fagnon, Trittipo, Donaldson and John Jackman set the Purdue Fort Wayne school record in the 4 x 100 meter relay and clocked in a time of 42.97, finishing in sixth.
Jackman competed in the 100 meter dash (18th, 11.48) and the 200 meter dash (21st, 23.35). Trittipo was 30th (23.89) and Logan Alexander was 34th (24.34). Donaldson represented the Mastodons in the 400 meter hurdles and earned a 12th place spot and a time of 57.68.
Five 'Dons competed in the 800 meter run. Kehinde Oladapo was third (1:57.51), Husam Saleh was 13th (1:59.96), Weston Miser finished 17th (2:00.62), Bryce Taylor concluded the race in 19th (2:01.34) and Keagan Stuckey rounded out the Mastodons in 21st (2:01.62).
In the high jump, Cain Hohne led the way in fourth with a mark of 1.90m. Lane Hawkins was in seventh with 1.85m and Austin Dove finished 12th with a mark of 1.85m. Alexander also competed in the high jumped and finished in 15th with 1.80m mark. Freshman Alex Schipper was the only Mastodon in the pole vault and ended the event in fourth with a height of 3.90m.
Oladapo, Saleh, Miser and Cory Waldron ran in the 4 x 800 meter relay and earned a second place finish with a time of 7:55.89.
Purdue Fort Wayne will be at Western Kentucky on Friday (April 2) and Saturday (April 3) for the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Friday's events will start at 1 p.m. and Saturday will begin at 9 a.m.
